DR ENIAYEWUN ADEMUYIWA BENJAMIN

I have been at the forefront of health system strengthening in Lagos State, leading to the transformation of general hospitals, with some becoming multispecialist/tertiary training centers at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

I was deeply involved in the COVID-19 response, especially in the training and deployment of over 2,000 healthcare workers across Lagos State and coordinating the deployment into the various isolation centers and intensive care units in the state.

I’ve also engaged in developing and implementing mitigating/coping strategies to the JAPA phenomenon (high turnover/migration of healthcare workers) to greener pastures, delivering growth with no loss in the quality of healthcare service delivery in the state’s general hospitals.

Author of the groundbreaking book TRANSFORMING: MY JOURNEY THROUGH THE LAGOS STATE HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, highlighting the epic turnaround of three major hospitals, among others.

He is happily married to Mrs. Omolara Eniayewun, and they are blessed with four children, all medical doctors: Dr. Adeyinka, Dr. Aderayo, Dr. Ademola (in view), and Dr. Adeolu (in view).
